It works just as a massager ball regularly works, except, when you get it wet, the salt will erode (not sure that is the right word), dissolve maybe is a better word? I put mine in the shower because I had read somewhere to do that. The sphere got crusty, so I had to run it under water and then dry it for it to be smooth again. As you can see from the picture, the sphere is smaller after rinsing. I still haven't figured out the benefits from having a salt stone compared to a rock, but it's nice.
This salt roller ball is attractive and fits well in my hand. It is a total of 3” tall in the plastic holder, and the wooden grip with ball is 2 1/4” tall x 2 1/2” diameter. It weighs 8.5 ounces. The holder allows water to drip off the ball and has a rubberized circle on the bottom so it stays right where you place it.This came with absolutely no directions. There is nothing in the description telling how to properly use this roller ball. I would assume that, being salt, it will grow smaller with use. It does not roll well when dry but is free-moving when wet. The wooden grip unscrews to replace the ball if necessary, but there is no indication as to where to purchase replacements, or how long this is expected to last.
This roller is interesting. You can use it dry and it rolls pretty well although you can feel it rolling. Because it is sold you definitely don’t want to use it in a wet environment because it will disintegrate your salt bowl. I like to use it just out of the shower when I’m still moistbut using it dry is fine as well. If you use it dry, the salt is nice and cool on your body.It comes with a holder cup, which you can just kind of plop it in and people probably won’t know what it is if they see it on your bathroom vanity or wherever. The container is plastic. I thought it might be metal was plastic with a wooden base. It is easy enough to hold, but not truly ergonomic if you’re going to use it for lengthy period of time. The good news is if your soulful starts to disintegrate or shrink, where it is no longer good for rolling the wooden base easily twist off where you can replace it with another salt ball. Your only challenge might be to find a salt ball that fits the actual base. Again, the base does twist also that you can take the ball out so if you need to clean it at all. I guess you could do this as well.Again a nice little roller dry and that is exactly what I’m using right now on the couch as I am writing this review. It feels great .
I was looking for one of these and this one was perfect!
Neat product for healing massage.
This is perfect for easing sore muscles. It must be heated
Sleek eye solution to help undereye and facial puffiness. Feels great on the face and helps sooth and relax facial muscles as your prepar for the day.
It's a good massage tool. Don't have to tire out the fingers.
Makes the body feel so relaxed.
Love the relaxation, easy to use.
Thank you!
Arrived in time and looks nice enough to keep out for easy use.
This is a heavier roller ball than normal since it's a stone, so it does take some extra pressure but I LOVE IT. More pressure is nice and love the fact that Himalayan rocks are supposed to have so many benefits. I haven't used this long enough to find out for myself, but I have high hopes. This is nicely made and looks quite fancy! It hasnt caused any skin irritations or rashes from it being a 'salt' rock either.
So for some reason I thought it'll be smooth and shiny but it's not. That's on me. But it works great ! The cap doesn't stay. I used the ball in the shower as well as with lotion and it worked great. I took one star because it's hard to clean lotion/ oil from it's surface. I mean it's natural and has imperfections I get that. I kept it in the fridge and loved the cold effect. I work with polymer clay and my hands hurt sometimes and it works so good to relieve the pain.
The product appears to be nicely designed, and incorporates a nicely sized piece of Himalayan Rock Salt. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with instruction/user guide. I mentioned to the significant other that the product details mentions usage during a shower/bath and/or with massage/body oils. I imagine it could be used under dry conditions, directly against the skin. However, she noted that it doesn't 'roll' smoothly in that fashion. So, the opted to use some use some moisturizing lotion. Her assessment included that the holder/base is well made. The bottom is made of wood, while the main section is plastic. The complete massager unit is light weight, and easily handled with one hand. She commented that it's the perfect size for her hand. Some believe that Himalayan Salt has health benefits: "Reduces inflammation and relieves pain such as muscle weakness, headaches, joint pain and fatigue. Generates negative ions, which are shown to help create a sense of peace and deep relaxation." (online source). It also is thought to exfoliate and nourish the skin. The significant other was happy to note that it's also has grounding properties, and that spas charge a lot for hot Himalayan salt massage therapies.Because the salt 'ball' is integral to the function of the product, the lack of instructions and care is a major disappointment. Will certain cleansing agents adversely affect the salt ball? The absence of this information does negatively impact the rating. Accordingly, it rates 4.25 - 4.5 stars. Still, it is a nice product.
I have used a couple of different massage balls in the past. They are usually steel and glide really well. What distinguishes this from those is the ball is made from salt stone, which is probably better for the skin and the ball itself rolls well but with a little friction. You don’t have to push with as much force to keep it from just sliding over your skin. In some ways I like this grip better but if you plan on massaging for a long time, it’s going to take a little more muscle to keep going. As far as it’s visual design, it’s nicer looking. It almost looks like a piece of art on the end table next to my recliner. The plastic holder also keeps it from rolling off the table, which is a plus. It is designed to use in the bath or shower, but I usually use it on my legs, over my jeans, when rolling out a sore thigh or back muscle. So far, it’s worked well.
The rock salt ball is very beneficial for your skin to revitalize with essential minerals and can also help when massaging pain points or muscles. The roller/wheel on this ball is very helpful and makes rotating the ball for the massage extremely simple and easy. It is very comfortable to the touch and does seem like genuine rock salt.Only concern is, because the ball is locked into the wheel mechanism, it's hard to wash/clean the ball. I got this for my family, and it is a bit unhygienic to share amongst multiple people if you can't wash it effectively. There is no way to remove the ball from the wheel from what I tried.
This thing is absolutely amazing. When i tell you it reaches even the smallest of acupressure points, thats an understatement.
I returned this item as it grabbed my skin while I was rolling it on my stomach.
The salt ball is too rough that it does not roll. I use oil with it, but it is not better. I have to turn it with my hand after each use, so it is not what I expected.
